Hosting the 1st Dalemain World Marmalade Awards & Festival in Japan

For British people, marmalade making is like a ritual once a year. In January, when Seville oranges appear on the market, people use a big pot to make a lot of marmalade. How is the marmalade this year? The color? The taste? Kitchens, awaiting the arrival of spring, will be filled with a fresh citrus scent and the color of orange.

Such marmalade is highlighted by a competition that began in 2006, the Dalemain World Marmalade Awards & Festival. Only a few dozens of jars entered in the 1st competition, however, over 3,000 jars from 40 countries in the world now enter the competition, which has grown as a popular event in Britain just before spring.

And in 2019, the Dalemain World Marmalade Awards & Festival will finally be held in Japan. Japan is a producer of various kinds of citrus, and the marmalade festival held there will surely attract many entries from all over the country. Through the event, we hope to spread the attraction of marmalade throughout Japan.
